DESCRIPTION:Explore Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park (run by the Glenbow Ranch Park Foundation) and find out about its rich history and iconic contributions to Alberta. Park stewards Alice Fedosoff and Shari Peyerl will lead a hiking tour of Yodel Loop which covers about 5 km and has two steep elevation changes. During the hike and at scenic viewpoints\, learn about the history of Glenbow quarry\, town\, school and ranch\, as well as the high society of Millionaire Hill. DESCRIPTION:Behind the Badge: Protecting Alberta’s Parks and Crown Lands \nCochrane Conservation Officer Kelli Steffler will be speaking on her role as an Alberta Conservation Officer in the Crown Land Enforcement Branch. She will discuss the responsibilities of Conservation Officers in protecting Alberta’s public lands and protected areas\, including enforcing provincial legislation\, resource conservation\, and promoting safe and responsible outdoor recreation. Attendees will gain insight into the daily duties of a Conservation Officer and the challenges faced in managing Alberta’s diverse landscapes. \nThis presentation will also highlight common issues encountered in parks & on crown land and how public can protect and enjoy Alberta’s natural spaces responsibly. \n
