The History of Canadian Bison Conservation

Join Wes Olson in a discussion about his passion for Bison

Extirpation: The complete removal of a species from the wild. Such was the fate of plains bison in Canada by 1890. Not a single plains bison remained in the wild in Canada and only about 250 wood bison eluded the slaughter in the northern wilds of Alberta. This presentation describes the historical efforts of conservationists to re-establish wild, free-ranging bison herds across western and northern Canada.

The event is free to attend, but requires registration.
