Each hill and coulee, cliff and bank in Glenbow Ranch Provincial Park was formed by water. Thousands of years ago, Glacial Lake Calgary covered this area. As the lake receded, it left sand, stone, depressions, and hills that would later transform into the land you see before you today.
Our Park inhabitants, from cows to deer to frogs and beavers all rely on these varied water sources for survival.
