On July 22nd bring your mothers, sisters, daughters and friends and join Danika Kelly and Renee Kokts – Porietis, co-founders of My Normative Inc. for an evening of conversation about women’s hormonal variability and its impacts on healthy living goals. Learn about the female hormonal lifecycle and how naturally occurring and exogenous hormones (hormones we take for birth control, menopause symptoms, etc) impact our brain function, mental health, caloric uptake, caloric expenditure, and quality of life. And build out some strategies for success for when you run into these hormonally related triumphs and struggles. This evening will conclude with a walk in the Park
Danika is the co-founder and chief executive officer of My Normative Inc. She is a passionate advocate for -and trained scholar in- sex and gender issues in the arena of health and accessibility. Danika comes from both: the world of high performance sport as an athlete and a coach as well as holding positions as an educator and clinician in the lifestyle-fitness arena in Western Canada.
Renee is the co-founder and chief operating officer of My Normative Inc. Before starting My Normative, Renee’s career in research has been grounded in women’s health, as her research interests range from the impact of the menstrual cycle on sport performance outcome to how lifestyle factors such as physical activity and chronic conditions are experienced by women in the health context.
