Golden Eagle Migration!

Join our very own Blake Weis in a discussion about Golden Eagle Migration.

Every year thousands of Golden Eagles migrate along the eastern slopes of the Rocky Mountains between their summer breeding grounds in Alaska and northern Canada and their winter range in the Great Plains. This migration route is the only place in the world where Golden Eagles move in large numbers. Since 1992, Rocky Mountain Eagle Research Foundation (RMERF) volunteers have performed annual raptor migration counts in Kananaskis Country in spring and fall, providing data to better the understanding of and inspire amazement in watching Golden Eagles. Join eagle watcher and GRPF Conservation Coordinator Blake Weis to explore eagle migration and the natural history of this iconic species.
