Doug Marter

Doug is a Senior Professional with over forty years of experience in parks and open space planning, project development and management. Doug has a demonstrated history working in Public Infrastructure Planning and Development with extensive experience in Park Development Planning, Capital Project Development and implementation of public park infrastructure projects. His experience includes infrastructure and Park Design and Development projects throughout Western Canada and the United States.
In his role as a senior manager (retired) with Calgary Parks, Doug has managed Parks Operations, Urban Conservation, Parks and Open Space Planning Program, and Water Management. Before his retirement Manager of Capital Planning and Infrastructure for Calgary Park management portfolio projects have included the Enmax Legacy Park Program, Ralph Klein Park, Haskayne Park, and Nose Hill Park Master Plan development and pathway and trail plan implementation. Doug is also involved at the Provincial Level as a Board Director with the Alberta Recreation and Parks Association as well as the Founding and past president of the Alberta Low Impact Development Association. Doug also serves as a member of the Town of Cochrane Parks and Recreation Committee.
Doug is currently President of DS Marter and Associates and is a Major Project Consultant for Parks Foundation Calgary
